The Procedure for Setting up a Website

The procedure for setting up a website is simple and we will do nearly all the work for you.

The stages we follow are -

1. We liase together about what sort of website you would like

You will probably have ideas about the style, design, and colour scheme, for your pages, perhaps reflecting your existing logo or notepaper.
If you don't, we can start from scratch.

We will discuss the size and layout of your site and agree on the basic pages. It is probably best to start with 4 or 5 pages. More can be added later if required.

Logos, images, or photographs, can be included, and a 'hit counter' can be added if you want one.

2. Design

We will then design your site and produce one page which you can look at on the screen. After making any alterations you require, the rest of the site will be built.

3. Your Approval

You will be able to look at the site on your own computer, and check it through. It will be possible to make final alterations at that stage.

4. Obtaining a Domain Name

You will need to choose a domain name e.g. www.mybusiness.co.uk. We will check its availability and obtain it for you.

5. Site Hosting

We will arrange for your site to be hosted on the large server at Cornwall Web Services (cornwall.net). This will enable people to get easy and fast access to your site. We will put your site up onto the internet.

6. Site Maintenance

It is very important that the information on your site is updated regularly, and we will do that for you, following your instructions.
